can i grow tomato plants in pots with basil around the bottom?

i have just recently bought 4 tomato plants and pots. i also have a packet of basil seeds and i was just wondering cani i plant the basil around a tomato plant in a pot. the pots diameter is roughly 25cm and its fairly deep (like an average pot)

  1. Yes ,it is a good companionship plant ,and will actually improve the flavor. Tomatoes are heavy feeders and require quite a bit of root room I’m not sure that a pot will handle it. I have a thirty gallon trash can,(large) that I made for growing tomatoes in this summer ,one grape one better boy and two others which are not large tomatoes,and they use two or more gallons of water per day.Good luck
